March 8, 2026I have happy memories of Mrs Stirrat, as she will always be to me. In 1970, I had to get from Yelta to Mildura High for Year 12; every day, I travelled with Mrs Stirrat when she went to and from Irymple Tech (I think). She was such a force for good, a positive role model and lovely lady.

Condolences to the family.
Noeline and Brad BatesOur Precious Vaughan, who was selfless, A good friend who is treasured in my heart and my daughters, whom she taught violin. She became a big part of our family a decade ago. She wasn’t only teaching music, she would pick up my youngest daughter, Naomi, from school and take her home for a lesson. Whenever we hear a violin play, we think of her thanking God for what she passed to my daughters. Her music hasn’t stopped; it’s going around into the hearts of every listener. I will miss you, Vaughan, but am fully assured that we will meet again.

Mary, Elizabeth and Naomi HenderVaughan you were an amazing lady and I was lucky enough to spend some good times with you and Roger. Having Brett as my brother in law, although more like a brother allowed me to expand my friendships with you and the rest of the family.

Rest in Peace Vaughan, it was a pleasure knowing you.Such a wonderful and accomplished musician, who shared her gifts as musical director and conductor for Electric Light Theatre for several years when I was in the cast and production team. I will forever remember how she taught the cast to sing “I’m sitting – WAIT! – on top of – WAIT! – the woooorld…”. Her remarkable ability to teach a cast of 70 youngsters to confidently sing 30 or more songs in a mere three months with very few of her characteristic eye rolls speaks to her virtues of patience, and dedication to the craft. I am blessed to have been lucky enough know her.
March 12, 2026Oh. How many wonderful ELT rehearsals and shows did she celebrate? Vaughan was a wonderful maestra and we were well served through her musical guidance, patience and expertise. Sorry to hear of her passing.. Condolences to all family and friends. She was probably many things to friends a d family but for many of us then youngsters, she was a wonderful musical gifted guide. Speedwell Vaughan. 💖💖💖
