Tributes
  1. Lidia… where do I start. You’ve been such a dear friend for over 52 yrs. Beautiful, funny and quirky. Your lovely grasp of english with your unique blend of Italian and Spanish. Which many yrs later with Facebook.. you managed to transcribe into words. I now read those words and I will forever hear your voice. From our first day in prep at Stewart Primary school … till now. So many wonderful memories. They just keep flooding back. You asking me to scratch your back cause it was itchy… only to find out you had chicken pox….. I still have never caught chicken pox! The day you fell from the school monkey bars and the time you dropped your brand new dragster down a dam (out the back on our way to the Tharles block). I laughed. You had pathetic grip strength. Until it came to net ball (our team the Wanderers)… your goal shooting abilities…just legendary. Our running abilities…we use to alternate who won the 100 metre sprint at our school sports.. until grades 5 and 6… you beat me twice in a row. And so it was decided… you a sprinter…me a distance runner. All our play dates. Cycling (you on your now damaged dragster) to each others fruit blocks. The time I took you down to the paddock at our block to feed Sullivan, Sandpiper and Swapsea.. Sandra Schimdts rather large horses. I can remember you dropping the grass and run screaming from the paddock as they ambled (possibly more a trot!) towards us. I don’t think you ever let me forget that moment. Then onto high school. New friends were made but our friendship continued. A group of 6 we became. Carmel, Jan(rip), Kerrie, Helen(not me but another..oh my 2 Helen’s!!) you and me. Sometimes Trevor(rip) joined our crew. School camps, that trip to Central Australia..was that really your first kiss? (captured forever on film btw !!!) Our first (and possibly only) ride on a camel.
School days behind us..but we stayed friends. Marriages, children, divorces. Phone calls and too infrequent catch ups. Thank god for Facebook.
Thank you for all the ‘horsie’ tags.
And thank you for being that friend who never changed. I knew that whenever we did catch up.. you were always Lidia. It was like stepping back to our school days.
I’m so not ready to say good bye and I’ve shed a few tears (actually to be honest..a lot) in the last couple of days. Say hi to Jan, Trevor and your beloved sister Susie..
Know that you have taken a piece of my heart with you and you will always be forever loved and so very very much missed. Lidia Pasut 28/5/1962 – 14/8/2019. Much love…Helen Seymour.

  3. Lidia, I have known you & been your neighbor for 17 years & had many a good time with you at our house, if it wasn’t just talking about the kids or having a drink of wine or swimming in the pool. Unfortunately we never got the chance to become good friends as we were always both working & in later years you were looking after your sister & I was looking after my Ray. But you would always wave to me or say hello or we would catch up at the letter box. It was with great sadness that you went so soon & you will be sadly missed by all. Rest peacefully Lidia, no more lonely days & nights, my Ray will be there to look after you. Unfortunately I cannot bring it into my heart to come to your funeral, as my Ray is still so fresh in my mind, but I will always remember you as my lovely polite & friendly neighbor. God Bless you Lidia xxx Love Yvonne
