Tributes
  1. Uncle Alex was a good and much loved man. I have treasured memories of school holidays being spent in Wedderburn with Auntie Dot, Uncle Alex, and our cousins. Their home was filled with love and kindness; never a cross word. You were a wonderful family to be with.
Alex was a kind and generous brother-in-law to Elsie (deceased). Elsie enjoyed having her sister Dot and Alex living close by; their support and company was always welcomed. Elsie admired Alex for his devotion to her sister Dorothy.
Thank you for the happy times Uncle Alex. God bless you. Forever in our hearts.

  2. Although he has gone on ahead of us, we will carry with us Uncle Alec’s sense of humour and unshakable love of his family near and far. My memories are of a loving Uncle who laughed easily and was always interested in how we were all going. “Look after each other, Hoo Roo!” We will miss you Uncle Alec, eventhough we hadn’t been able to visit for a while, we all spoke to each other regularly. My Dad, Robert loved your company, and I remember you both throwing your heads back laughing.
Your love for us was always made clear. You will be remembered with love and fondness.

  3. I couldn’t have loved Alex any more if he was my own brother. We talked on the phone a couple of times each week. His birthday is the day before mine, so we always celebrated our birthdays together over the phone, with everyone singing “Happy Birthday” down the line. Recently sharing our 80th together. In these last few months, it was a great relief to know how well he was being cared for by Natasha and Andrew. Every time we spoke, he emphasised the loving care and attention he was receiving in their home. Lincoln was the apple of his Pop’s eye, and he always told us what a terrific kid he is. Well Alex, we will miss you greatly. Your love for your family and stoicism throughout some hard times are a tribute to your huge heart. No doubt we will all meet again. Your loving Sister in Law, Brenda. Xoxoxo

  4. A few days before Alex’ passing, I was talking to his wife “Dot” Dorothy Mahood, my sister, who is currently in a nursing home. In a moment of beautiful clarity, She said “You know Brenda, eventhough i haven’t seen Alex for a while because of Covid restrictions, Alex and I still love each other. I love him and he loves me, and I miss him.”
