  4. I remember you Phil when you were born and were first brought to church. I remember you as a little boy at the church’s school. Your happy smile would cheer anyone’s day. I got to see you as a grown man and how you honoured God and your family. It was an honour playing music with you🎺 and 🎸 occasionally on a Sunday morning. Thank you for the sterling job you did tuning our piano. It is really hard to believe you’ve been called home this soon… 💔😭. The Hope you had is True and I know He will take good care of you. Until we meet again Phil.

    Our blessed Hope:
    Corinthians 15:51-57
    King James Version
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

  7. Phil was on our Gold Coast Youth for Christ touring band “Fusebox” in 2005. He was an amazing team member and played bass on tour, always happy and well loved by his team mates. A diligent and fun loving young guy as seen in many of the team photos that we still have. It is a sad loss that his life was cut short at such an early age. Rosemary and I are saddened at the Jones family loss and our prayers and thoughts are with Bek and his family including his cousins Mate who was on the Fusebox tour and Kelly who was on the Mattiniah team in 2000. May God’s peace be with the family and may they all feel God’s ever loving presence in their loss knowing that he is now is our Saviours arms.

  8. Phil. Musician, mate, encourager. I remember the many moments of sharing the stage with you and being a part of a great trumpet section for many years. In later years, our reminiscing always ended with a laugh a cheers and a smile. I will always remember that smile.

  9. Knowing Phil from many years through the Mildura Baptist College and music history with my daughters. Hearing about his passing was a huge shock . I can’t attend his funeral service physically, ( I am overseas ). I will be watching it online and am sharing your grieve heartfully. OUT of all the Jones’s generation my late son Samuel Hender looked up to Phil and wanted to copy him with Trumpet playing. My daughters all got the shock as I did, we cried talking together as a family, currently I am praying for Beck, the daughters and Peter. It is so hard to accept a sudden passing, May we not grieve as those who don’t know the Lord personally. Phil’s passing is a loss for us here on earth but gain in Heaven. May our Lord comfort you all at this difficult time. Please accept our deep sympathy

  16. Phil let us think he was a quiet, shy 11 or 12 year old when he came to the Combined Schools Bands. Imagine our surprise when a quirky comment here and a quick witted remark popped out! Always smiling, always just doing your thing. Thank you for allowing me to share a part of your journey Phil.

To Rebekah and your gorgeous little girls, to Peter and Michelle, I am so, so sorry for your loss.
