  1. Our dearest Alan,
For over 25 years of my life you have been not only my chosen uncle you have always played a crucial part in my upbringing, from simple drop ins to mow mums lawn and check on my brother and I, to offer sugar, bread and probably many more things 😅 you were always an offer of help and a safe space for not only me but my mother and brother aswel in hard times you truly were a fantastic role model
To have the guidance, wisdom and patience I received or the warm welcome and chats you always gave to bear and I
I couldnt have asked for a better safe male role model in our such young lives, you gave me space to grow into the person I wanted to be and even if a little different it was okay, forever without judgement and for that I can never truly put into the words I would have liked to share with you fo for now ill say god bless, I love you and I will pray for you and your beautiful family 🙏❤️ love from mum, me and dylan, our alan my you rest peacefully ❤️

  2. VALE Alan, it’s a shame you had to leave this world ahead of time, we’ll catch up in the next. Thanks so much for helping me out after you sold up and transitioned out of growing grapes. So many years of top shelf help that was truly appreciated– especially the skillful driving when we were chasing the wine grape harvester at all night at the Merbein block and the dried fruit harvesting at Red Cliffs. Also the pruning and picking work, always done expertly. And of course finishing the pruning for me when sepsis sidelined me for 6 weeks in 2021, and all ON CREDIT mind you, that was HUGE. Plus of course your ongoing advice, your intelligent enquiring mind and the many hours of discussion of everything under the sun, we’ll all miss you. B
